So, Hit Me With Your Best Shot. What Kind of Fool volunteers to help plan a class reunion? Everyone’s been asking me that lately…
It all started back with that late-night phone call from Michele D’Addario: Michele: “Hello Again. It’s Michele D’Addario calling. Remember me from All Those Years Ago? It’s Time to get Together for a Celebration.” I thought to myself, “I’m a Modern Girl now. I Don’t Need You.” Then I answered aloud, “It sure was The Best of Times.” “Well” Michele continued, “I’m going to Tell It Like It Is. It’s Now or Never. This is Urgent. We’re planning our 25th,and we need your involvement to help Whip It all together.” I could hear the Passion in her voice. So I asked, “Who else is on the committee?” Michele replied, “A Woman named Sue Runfola and this other Lady—Anita Stange.” As That Same Old Lang Syne ran through my head, I thought to myself, “Sue and Anita? My Windermere buddies?” I had to get involved! “Sue and Anita,” I exclaimed in disbelief, “I Can’t Stand It. I’m Coming Out! It’s My Turn to step up to the plate.” “That’s right,” encouraged Michele, “When You See A Chance, Take It.” “Besides,” I continued, “I’ve got way Too Much Time On My Hands.” After all, I reasoned, “I’m Just Sitting Here Watching The Wheels Go Round. I Really Wanna Know You guys again. It will be (Just Like) Starting Over.” That phone call seems so long ago now. Fast forward to today… Well, Who’s Crying Now? Guilty. The Tide is High, and all this week I’ve been working 9-5 on the reunion. Another One Bites The Dust, my husband is thinking smugly to himself. These days, when my family asks me, “What’s for dinner?” I reply, “Take It On The Run. I’ve heard Shogun’s has great Sukiyaki.” Seriously, The Winner Takes It All. Helping to plan this reunion has been a Winning experience. It Just Feels So Right. Sue, Michele, Anita, even though it hasn’t always been Endless Love and I’m no Angel Of The Morning, Being With You Step By Step has meant More Than I Can Say. Together with you guys, I Made It Through The Rain. I am thankful to have been truly blessed to work with you, and I Ain’t Even Done With The Night! |
